We need your help! Everyone is welcome in Extinction Rebellion, whatever your background and skills, and however much or little time you can contribute.
There are lots of different ways to be involved, from non-violent direct action to community outreach, fundraising, arts and communications.
Come to a meeting
We meet most Monday evenings in Dalston. This is a great way to find out what we’re working on and how you can contribute. At every meeting we also hold a mini Welcome & Integration session for anyone new, to give an introduction to our aims and how we work.

Within XR Hackney & Tower Hamlets, we split off into smaller working groups based on what we want to contribute. The best way to join one is to come to a meeting or get in touch.
Our current working groups include:
Media & Messaging
Communicates between XR Hackney and our local and wider communities through social media, email newsletters, leaflets, posters and press releases.
Arts
Designs and makes creative banners and props for actions and events.
Movement of Movements
Connects, supports and builds solidarity with other movements and organisations with whom we have a shared aim, such as trade unions and local wildlife groups.
Project 3.5
Plans and promotes a monthly public climate emergency talk, to raise awareness and mobilise for action.
Action Planning
Designs, plans and carries out non-violent direct actions that support XR’s aims, principles and values.
Welcome & INtegration
Contacts new sign-ups by email and phone to encourage them to come along to local meetings, and to answer their questions.
